Your personal information is used to meet our business and legal needs, including:
We may also use your personal information to contact you about our products and services that may be of interest to you, as permitted by law.
We may disclose personal information that we collect or that you provide as described in the Policy:
We may transfer the personal information we collect or that you provide as described in the Policy to subcontractors, service providers and other third parties that we use to support our business (such as our manufacturing facilities and our analytics and search engine providers who help us improve and optimize the Site). These third parties are contractually obligated to keep personal information confidential, to use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it, and to treat personal information according to the standards set out in the Policy and in compliance with applicable Canadian privacy legislation.
We may process, store and transfer your personal information in and to a foreign country, which has laws that differ with respect to the protection of personal information and which may or may not be as comprehensive as Quebec’s legislation. In these circumstances, the governments, courts, law enforcement or regulatory agencies of that country may be able to access your personal information through the laws of the foreign country. Nevertheless, whenever we engage a service provider, we require that its privacy and security standards adhere to the Policy and applicable Quebec privacy legislation.
By submitting your personal information or engaging with the Site, you consent to such transfer, storage or processing.
We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:
The security of your personal information is very important to us. We have put in place physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards designed to protect your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, modification, and disclosure. We store all information you provide behind firewalls on our secure servers.
Securo Vision’s online solutions are configured with data encryption. This means that when an individual submits personal information through the Securo Vision Site and Centres, the electronic data is protected by TSL/SSL technology to ensure secure transmission. In addition, hard copy personal data is stored in a secure facility. Only authorized Securo Vision personnel have access to these facilities.
Please note that the safety and security of your information also depends on you. If you have chosen a password to access one of our Centres, you are responsible for keeping that password confidential. We ask that you do not share your password with anyone.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is never completely secure. While we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot completely guarantee the security of personal information transmitted to our Site. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for the circumvention of privacy settings or security measures in place on the Site by malicious entities or individuals.
Unless otherwise permitted or required by applicable law or regulation, we will retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purpose of satisfying legal, accounting or auditing requirements.
In certain circumstances, we may anonymize your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you. We reserve the right to use this anonymized data for legitimate business purposes without further notice or consent from you.
It is important that the personal information we hold about you is accurate and up-to-date. Please keep us informed if your personal information changes. By law, you have the right to request access and/or correction of the personal information we hold about you.
If you wish to review, verify, correct or withdraw your consent to the use of your personal information, you may also email us at info@securo.ca. to request access to, correction of or deletion of any personal information you have provided to us. We cannot accept a request to change information if we believe that the change would violate a law or legal requirement or would result in incorrect information.
Before providing you with access to your information, we may ask you for specific information to help us confirm your identity and right of access, and to provide you with the personal information we hold about you or to make the requested changes. In some cases, applicable law permits or requires us to refuse to provide you with access to some or all of the personal information we hold about you, or that we may have destroyed, erased or made anonymous in accordance with our legal record-keeping obligations and privacy best practices.
Please note that if you request deletion of certain information, we may not be able to provide you with certain products or services. We will explain the consequences of deletion at that time to assist you in your decision.
If we are unable to provide you with access to your personal information, we will inform you of the reasons why, subject to any legal or regulatory restrictions. Such restrictions may include, for example, information about another individual that would reveal their personal information or confidential business information, or would be prohibitively expensive to provide.
